Poor Specimen is a worldwide award-winning producer of action sports films. Located in Solana Beach, California and led by Taylor Steele, the company is famous for its ability to produce quality movies consistently while always maintaining its cutting-edge innovation.
At the young age of 13, the Poor Specimen name and logo were put on every creative endeavor Taylor Steele experimented with. Whether it was a short film, claymation or surf movies made from VCR to VCR, all bore the name proudly. In 1991 it all changed with the release of one of Taylor’s surf movies named Momentum. Moving from a hobby to a career, Poor Specimen has kept its own momentum producing over 20 movies, music videos and television shows. Their goal is always to improve on the quality from the last project by showcasing the most progressive surfing and pushing themselves creatively on the production side. Some of the company's works include The Drive Thru, Days of the Strange, Longer, Stranger than Fiction, Campaign, and Singlefin: Yellow.
